Getting There

The address is Kampung Janda Baik, Bentong, Pahang — so you're heading towards Bentong from KL. From Gombak or Karak Highway, take the exit towards Bentong and follow the signs to Janda Baik. The road into Janda Baik itself is paved and easy to drive — no 4WD needed, your regular Myvi or Axia will do fine. Just watch the turns, especially if it's been raining.

GPS works well here — plug in "Canopy Villa Glamping Park" on Google Maps or use the CID link. Give yourself about 1.5 hours from KL under normal traffic. If you're coming on a Friday evening, add buffer time because the Karak stretch can get jammed.

What to Expect

This is glamping, so the tents are fully furnished — think proper mattress, aircon or fan, towels, and a kitchen with a gas stove. Some units are bigger Moghul-style tents that fit up to 6-7 people with a private toilet and kitchen. Others share communal facilities. The size and type of tent affects the price, so check what you're booking before you pay.

The biggest complaint from multiple reviewers is heat during the day. Janda Baik is cooler than KL, but midday can still get stuffy inside the tent — especially if the aircon is just a portable unit. A few reviewers mentioned hanging outside the tent during noon hours, which is honestly what you should plan to do anyway. Go to the river, do the activities, come back to the tent when it cools down.

What Campers Are Saying

A family of 6 paid RM488 for a big tent and said the overall experience was good — serenity, ambience, the works. They just wished the tent stayed cooler during the day for that price. Fair point. When you're spending close to 500 ringgit, you expect the aircon to actually win against the afternoon heat.

Another group checked in during heavy rain and said the staff came all the way to their car to help with check-in. That's the kind of service that gets remembered. They did flag that the shower area needs better privacy screening — people walking past can see a bit too much. Something for the management to sort out.

One reviewer specifically booked the Moghul tent — the bigger, fancier option — and had the best time. Staff helped set up their BBQ fire, put out insect repellent without being asked, and the tent came with aircon that actually worked well. The difference in experience between tent types seems real, so if your budget allows, go for the better unit.
