But if you're looking for something relaxed and low-effort — especially for families with kids or couples who want a taste of nature without roughing it — this place has something going for it. You're on a 120-acre fruit orchard with fresh air, a swimming pool, a library, a mini cinema, and morning walks through the trees. That's not a bad weekend. Feels more like a wellness retreat that happens to have tents, rather than a campsite that happens to have facilities.

The crowd here is mostly families, couples, and corporate groups. Not the kind of place where you'll bump into hardcore hikers comparing carabiners. It's chill, it's green, and the staff are genuinely warm from what everyone says. Low season means you might have the place almost to yourself.

Getting There

The address is 63, Kampung Brisu, 78100 Lubok China, Melaka. Lubok China is in Alor Gajah district, about 25–30 minutes from Ayer Keroh or about 45 minutes from Melaka town centre. Key the address into Waze or Google Maps — it'll take you through kampung roads towards the end but nothing extreme. No 4WD needed. Standard car is fine. Just go slow once you're off the main road.

If you're coming from KL, it's roughly 2 hours via the PLUS highway. Exit at Ayer Keroh or Alor Gajah, then navigate from there. The resort is part of Orchard Wellness, so you might also spot signage for that along the way.

What to Expect

The safari tents are spacious — comfortably fits a family of 4 with room to move around. Each tent comes with an en-suite bathroom, which is a big deal. You won't be walking to a shared toilet block at 2am. Basic toiletries and towels are provided too, so you're not packing like you're going deep jungle.

The orchard is huge and the air is genuinely fresh — especially after rain when everything cools down and smells clean. The morning walk takes about 45 minutes and isn't strenuous. Good for kids and older folks too. The swimming pool adds a lot of value, especially if you're coming with children. There's also a library and mini cinema, which sounds odd for a campsite but honestly works for a lazy evening.

Best time to visit is during fruit season — durian, rambutans, whatever's in season — because you can buy fresh fruits right from the orchard. That's the experience that makes this place stand apart from a regular glamping resort. Timing matters here.

A group of 14 — adults and small kids — booked 3 safari tents and had a genuinely good time. Off-season, the farm walk is still nice but feels a bit bare. Call ahead (016-325 8888) to ask what's currently in harvest before you book. Also, since the tents can't be locked and there's no in-room safe, bring a small pouch or crossbody bag to keep your phone, wallet, and cards on you at all times — even to the pool.
