Do I even need a sleeping bag in Malaysia?
For lowland camping, often a liner or light bag is enough; for highlands like Cameron Highlands or Gunung trips, nights drop low enough that you'll want proper insulation.
Will a sleeping pad help with damp ground?
Yes — a pad insulates you from ground moisture and cold, which matters more in rainy season than most beginners expect.
How do I keep sleeping gear from smelling in humidity?
Air-dry fully before storing, keep it out of its compression sack at home, and store loose in a dry place.
