De Star Glamping, Lenggeng — Fun for Families, But Manage Your Expectations

The Vibe

De Star Glamping is a resort-style glamping site tucked near Broga Hills in Lenggeng, Negeri Sembilan. You're not roughing it here — pre-pitched tents with queen beds, air-conditioning, and free Starlink WiFi. This is the kind of place you bring the whole family when someone (usually the wife or the in-laws) says they want to "try camping" but aren't about sleeping on the ground.

The surroundings are genuinely nice — green hills in the background, open grassy areas, a small swimming pool, and little animals for the kids to feed. There's a relaxed kampung resort feel to the whole place. String lights, bunting flags, a big projector screen at the parking area. It's not pretending to be hardcore camping. It knows what it is, and mostly delivers on that promise.

The crowd here is almost entirely families with young kids and couples looking for a low-effort weekend escape from KL. Very chill, very safe, very tame. If you're a seasoned camper looking for a challenge or some real jungle solitude, this isn't your spot. But if the goal is getting the kids excited about the outdoors without traumatising anyone, De Star does the job.

Getting There

De Star Glamping is in Lenggeng, Negeri Sembilan — just a short drive from Broga. From KL, you're looking at roughly 45 minutes to an hour via the LEKAS Highway or Semenyih route. Search "De Star Glamping" on Google Maps and it'll take you right there. The address is WWCH+MQ, 71750 Lenggeng, Negeri Sembilan — you can also call them at 011-2644 2822 to confirm the route if you're unsure.

The road in is straightforward — no 4WD needed, no dodgy jungle tracks. Normal cars are fine. There's covered parking on site too, so no worrying about your car baking in the sun all day.

What to Expect

The glamping tents are spacious and genuinely comfortable — two queen beds per tent, proper linens, bedside lamps, power sockets, and a portable air-conditioner. That last bit is a big deal in Malaysia. Sleeping in a tent without sweating through your clothes changes the whole glamping experience.

Outside each tent there's a covered area with a standing fan, string lights, and enough space to just sit and lepak. The whole resort is well-maintained and clean. During sunny afternoons it can get pretty hot out in the open, so plan to drive out for cold drinks or just chill inside the tent until evening.

Activities for kids include fishing, sand play, and feeding the animals — rabbits and a few others. It's not a full-blown activity camp, but there's enough to keep young children entertained without staring at screens. BBQ is available too, but you'll need to bring your own ingredients, charcoal, and fire starter.

This is a beginner and family-friendly site through and through. Don't expect wild adventure. Expect a comfortable, laid-back weekend where the kids sleep happy and you actually get to relax. Toilets & Bathrooms

Only 4 combined toilet-and-shower units for the whole site. Each one doubles as both a shower stall and a toilet cubicle, which means if someone's doing their business in there, you're waiting. The fittings are a bit old — some reportedly not working properly. Functional, but the owners really should upgrade these.

Swimming Pool

Small but the kids love it. Fair warning: there's no filtration system and it's surrounded by trees, so the water gets murky pretty fast after a few rounds of use. Don't expect resort-quality pool water.

Electricity

Power sockets inside each glamping tent. Guests are restricted from bringing in personal electrical items — management controls the power supply, likely to protect the solar setup. Stable enough for overnight use of the included A/C.

WiFi

Free Starlink WiFi available on site. Password displayed clearly. Actually works — impressive for a glamping site in Lenggeng.

Kitchen & Cooking

Limited kitchen sinks available at fixed spots. If everyone's cooking at the same time, you'll be queuing. Bring your own sponge — the communal ones are oily and past their prime. Dishwashing liquid is provided and refilled. There's one fridge and one freezer for the whole site — fine for a one-night stay, tight if you're staying two or more nights.

Food Options

No mart on site. Optional self-cook steamboat and breakfast available at add-on prices — portions are reportedly generous and reasonably priced. For ice and other supplies, you'll need to drive out to a nearby town.

Parking

Covered parking area on site. Big projector screen here too, apparently used for movie nights. Nice touch.

Blankets

Provided, but small. If you're sensitive to cold or bringing young kids, pack an extra blanket or a light sleeping bag just in case.
