The Vibe

If you've ever wanted to camp somewhere that actually lives up to its name, Wind Of Nature Camp in Bukit Tinggi, Bentong might surprise you. The moment you step out of your car, you'll feel it — that cool, constant breeze rolling through. For a lowland campsite, the air here is genuinely cold, especially at night and early morning. Not Camerons cold, but cold enough that you'll be grateful you packed a hoodie.

The place has a simple, no-frills kampung feel. Numbered lots, flat ground, and greenery around you. It's the kind of campsite where you're not fighting for space or dealing with a crowd. In fact, based on recent visits, the place has been pretty quiet — maybe too quiet. The campsite seems like it's been through a slower patch, but the bones are good. Good air, good ground, friendly people running it.

This place draws the chill crowd — friends who want to escape KL for a weekend, couples looking for a quiet getaway, and families with kids or even pets (yes, furkids are welcome here). Star gazers will appreciate the night sky too. It's not a hardcore jungle adventure. It's more of a slow weekend reset.

Getting There

The campsite sits along Jalan Bukit Tinggi in Kampung Bukit Tinggi, Bentong, Pahang. From KL, you're looking at roughly 1 to 1.5 hours depending on traffic. Take the Karak Highway (E8), exit at Bentong, then follow the road up towards Bukit Tinggi. The area is well known — most people know it as the road leading up to Colmar Tropicale or the Rabbit Farm. Wind Of Nature Camp is in that same general stretch.

The road up can be winding and hilly — standard Pahang highland driving. Nothing that requires a 4WD, a regular car handles it fine. Just take it slow on the bends. Punch the Google Maps CID link or search "Wind Of Nature Camp Bentong" and it'll get you there. If you're unsure, call ahead — 012-232 8219. The owner and staff are responsive.

What to Expect

Flat, grassy lots with numbered pitches — Lot B11 was mentioned by one reviewer, so they've got a proper layout going. The ground is well-maintained and even. Surrounding you is lush greenery, you'll hear a river flowing nearby, and birds going crazy in the morning. It's a peaceful setting.

Crowd-wise, don't expect a packed campsite. This one flies under the radar. That's either great news or a bit eerie depending on your personality — one camper literally said they were the only ones there. On a positive note, that also means more space, less noise, and a very personal experience with the staff who will actually help you set up your tent if needed.

Mosquitoes are a real issue here, especially after dark. Come prepared. This is probably the biggest practical downside. But if you've got your repellent game sorted, the rest of the experience — the breeze, the silence, the stars — makes up for it. Suited for beginners, families, and couples. Not a rugged adventure spot, but a genuinely relaxing one.

Facilities

Toilets

Multiple reviewers called them clean. That's not nothing — clean toilets at a budget campsite is a genuine win. Conveniently close to the camping area too.

Tent Pitching

Flat, maintained ground. The staff (shoutout to Bharat) will actually help you set up your tent if you ask. Beginner-friendly.

River

There's a river on site. Reviewers mentioned the sound of flowing water as part of the ambience. Whether it's swimmable wasn't confirmed, but it adds to the whole vibe.

Parking

Available on site. Given how quiet the place tends to be, parking doesn't seem to be an issue.

What Campers Are Saying

One solo reviewer who visited in March noted that the campsite was completely empty when they arrived — just them and the whole place to themselves. Their lot was B11. They said the place felt a bit run down but they still had a great time because the wind was something else. Sejuk gila, their words. They also flagged the mosquitoes as bad. Hopefully the owner keeps working on the upkeep because the potential is there.

Another camper highlighted the pet-friendliness — brought their furkid along, no issues. Said it was quiet, breezy, and perfect for relaxing with friends. Also gave a thumbs up to the owner for keeping the flat ground and toilets in good condition.

A third reviewer had high praise for the staff — specifically mentioned a guy named Bharat who helped with tent setup and made them feel welcome. Clean toilets, friendly host, quiet atmosphere. That's a solid three-for-three.

One more camper pointed out that the chilling breeze only really kicks in during the evening and morning hours — midday can still get warm. So if you're expecting Genting-level cold all day, manage your expectations. But sunrise and after maghrib? Sejuk and syiok.

TAHAN Tip

Mosquitoes here are no joke after dark — bring actual mosquito coils or a electric repellent, not just a spray. Set up your camp while it's still light, get your coils going before sunset, and you'll have a much more comfortable night. Don't skip this step or you'll be scratching through till Subuh.
