Uncle JO Retreat is a private campsite set inside an orchard in Kuala Klawang, Negeri Sembilan. Not a government recreational forest, not a riverside camp you share with 200 strangers on weekends — this is a proper managed site with numbered plots, fencing, gated entry, and a family running the whole thing personally. The river is nearby — about one to two minutes' walk away — but don't expect a swimming hole. The current is fast and the water can get muddy. Good to look at, not so great to wade in. Manage your expectations on that front.

Getting There

The campsite is located at Jalan Kampong Ulu Kenaboi, Kg. Chalin, 71650 Kuala Klawang, Negeri Sembilan. Kuala Klawang is about an hour from Seremban and roughly an hour and a half from KL, depending on which route you take. From Seremban, head towards Kuala Klawang town and then follow the road towards Kg. Chalin. Plug the Google Maps CID link directly into your phone — it'll get you there cleanly. The campsite is next to the main road, so access is easy and no 4WD is needed. Paved all the way. You can come in a Myvi.

What to Expect

Each numbered camping plot is a generous 20 by 20 feet of sand — enough to fit a large family tent and still have room to move around. The whole site is fenced and gated, so there's no random traffic walking through your camp at 2am. That alone is a big deal if you're camping with kids.

Nights here get surprisingly cool because the campsite is surrounded by hills. Not Cameron Highlands cold, but cool enough that a good sleeping setup matters. Deep Freezers

Fishing Pond

There's a fish pond on-site. No catch and release — if you catch it, you weigh it and pay for it. Reel not provided, so bring your own if you want to fish.

Parking

On-site parking available right near your plot. Loading and unloading is easy — no long walks from the car park.

Check-In / Check-Out

Check-in from 7am, check-out until 5pm. That's a 10-hour window. Very generous compared to most sites that kick you out by noon.
