Waze especially has been known to take you offroad to some random place that has nothing to do with the campsite. Contact the owner first at 010-423 6621 and get proper directions from them before you head out. Save yourself the drama.

The road going in can be bumpy and muddy depending on weather — nothing that requires a 4WD, but don't show up in a heavily lowered car after heavy rain and expect a smooth ride. A normal sedan should manage in dry conditions. Just drive carefully and you'll be fine.

What to Expect

Open ground, riverside lots, and a genuinely beautiful stretch of river. The campsite is well-spaced and not the kind of place that crams 50 tents into a small patch of grass. You book your lot in advance, which helps keep things orderly. Some lots are car camping friendly — you park right next to your tent. Others require a short walk from the designated parking area.

Daytime can get hot because there's very little shade from trees. Plan your activities around the river during peak afternoon heat. But come nightfall, it cools down nicely and the open sky means proper stargazing — especially around the start or end of the month when there's no full moon washing out the stars. Mid-month if you want the full moon over the river. Both scenarios sound pretty good honestly.
