Cozy Leisure Farm Cameron Highlands — A Farm Stay with a View That'll Make You Forget You're Camping

The Vibe
This one's a bit different from your usual campsite. Cozy Leisure Farm isn't just about pitching a tent — it's a working farm up in the Cameron Highlands highlands, sitting at around 1,200m above sea level in Bertam Valley, just outside Ringlet. Crisp mountain air, sweeping views, avocado trees, grapevines, coffee plants — the whole deal. Think less "roughing it in the jungle" and more "sleeping on a farm with a view that slaps."
The owner has been cultivating this land for over 30 years, and that shows. Every part of the farm feels intentional — not touristy, just someone who genuinely loves what he's built. He does farm tours personally, which honestly makes the whole experience. You'll learn things about tropical agriculture you didn't expect to care about but somehow end up fascinated by.
There are at least two camping zones on the property, and more are apparently being developed. It's a good fit for families — there's a mini zoo with rabbits and birds that kids will love — but also for campers who want something different from the usual riverside or jungle setup. Expect some tourists passing through during the day since it's part of tour packages, but at night, it's just you and the mountain air.

Getting There
The address is Mdch 1, Jalan Lembah Bertam, off the Ringlet–Sungai Koyan road, 39200 Ringlet, Pahang. You're coming in from the Ringlet side of Cameron Highlands — not the main Brinchang or Tanah Rata stretch most people know.
Here's the thing: you cannot drive up to the farm in a regular car. The slope is reportedly around 50 degrees — yes, seriously steep. The farm uses their own 4WD vehicles to shuttle guests up. What you do is drive to a meeting point near a restaurant called the Highlander Restaurant, then call the owner to arrange the pickup. There's also no network signal once you're past the meeting point, so sort out your coordination beforehand. Save the number: 012-577 3639.
The 4WD ride up is part of the fun — reviewers compare it to a roller coaster. Kids love it. Adults who weren't expecting it... less so. Just brace yourself.

What to Expect
This is a highland farm camp, not a wilderness camp. The terrain is steep — everything here is on a slope — but the campsite areas themselves are set up properly. The views from up top are genuinely something. On a clear day, the panoramic scenery across Bertam Valley is the kind of thing you'd pay a lot more for at a resort.
Crowd-wise, it can get busy during the day because tour groups come through. But it's not a mass-market tourist trap — the owner keeps it personal. Evenings are quieter. The vibe overall is relaxed and wholesome. Families with kids will feel at home here.
Pricing sits at RM60 per head per night, which some reviewers find a bit steep (pun intended). Honestly for what you get — farm tour, fruit platter from the owner, transport up and down, plus the view — it's not outrageous, but go in knowing it's not a budget option.
One heads-up: random tourists do turn up during the day, so if you want total seclusion, this isn't it. But if you want a unique experience that combines camping with a proper farm stay, this delivers.

Facilities
Toilets
Two zones, two very different experiences. The top zone has a big, decent toilet block with a water heater — thumbs up. Zone 3's toilet is smaller, only one heater, and staff quarters are right behind it which makes it feel a bit awkward. Manage your expectations depending on which zone you're in.
Network / Connectivity
No signal once you're up at the farm. The owner sells satellite cards on-site if you need connectivity. Otherwise, treat it as a digital detox and embrace it.
Transport
The farm provides 4WD transport up and down the hill. You don't have a choice here — personal vehicles can't handle the slope. Factor this into your plans when you're coordinating arrival and departure times.
Farm Activities
Farm tours are included and genuinely good — the owner personally walks you through. Mini zoo for the kids (rabbits, birds). Fresh fruit tasting, including produce grown on-site. Grape season is twice a year, around March and September — time your visit if you want to catch that.

What Campers Are Saying
Multiple visitors call out the owner as the highlight of the whole experience. One camper described how he personally walked them through 30 years of cultivating the land — avocados, grapes, passion fruit, even robusta and arabica coffee. "It felt like a living encyclopedia of tropical agriculture" — that's a real quote, and honestly it captures it well.
The 4WD ride up gets mentioned constantly. One reviewer said their tour guide warned them it was a 50-degree slope. The general consensus: terrifying the first time, brilliant once you're up there. One camper called it "like a roller coaster" — and meant it as a compliment.
A camper who stayed overnight flagged the pricing — RM60 per pax per night. They thought it was on the pricier side. Fair point. But most people who stayed felt the overall package justified it, especially with the farm tour and fresh fruit thrown in.
One honest reviewer (3 stars) said that if you've already visited Flora Park, you might not find Cozy Leisure Farm as wow-worthy. Fair review — this place is best experienced without high expectations for "activities" in the conventional sense. The magic here is the setting and the personal touch from the owner, not a long list of things to do.
Families with young kids consistently mention the rabbit feeding as a hit. Simple, but the little ones go nuts for it.

TAHAN Tip
Call the owner at 012-577 3639 before you leave home — not when you arrive at Ringlet. There's no signal at the meeting point and no way to get up the hill without coordinating transport with him first. Also, if you want to catch the grape harvest, plan around March or September. Miss those windows and the vines are just... vines.
