Sumiran Eco Park & Resort sits off Jalan Batu Kawa near Rantau Panjang, about a 20-30 minute drive from Kuching city. It's not a hardcore camping spot. Think more of a recreation park and resort combo — you've got activities, a cafe, rooms to stay in, and a river nearby. It's the kind of place families and groups from Kuching come to on a Sunday for a day out, not necessarily to pitch a tent and disappear into the jungle.
The energy here is relaxed and kampung-ish. Staff are generally warm and friendly — multiple visitors mentioned feeling welcomed from the moment they arrived. There's a fire performance at night which sounds genuinely fun, and the food at the cafe gets solid praise. If you're expecting a polished eco resort with everything running smoothly, temper those expectations. If you're just looking for a chill getaway close to Kuching with some activities thrown in, it can still be a decent time — as long as you know what you're signing up for.

Getting There
From Kuching city, head towards Batu Kawa. You're looking for Jalan Batu Kawa and then turning off onto Jalan Rantau Panjang — the address puts you at 93250 Kuching. The drive is roughly 20-30 minutes from the city centre depending on traffic. The area is semi-rural so don't expect a big signboard from the main road — keep your Google Maps running. The road in should be manageable for a normal car, nothing that requires a 4WD. What to Expect
