It's genuinely good for families, couples, school groups, even corporate team-building stuff. Not a hardcore jungle camp — this is about relaxing by the sea and maybe catching crabs at midnight.

The atmosphere is calm. Not rowdy. People come here to slow down, not to party. The sound of waves in the background, the river flowing nearby, fireflies if you're lucky — it hits different compared to your usual inland campsite. Getting There

The campsite is in Kampung Kolam, Merchang, Marang — about 20–25 minutes south of Kuala Terengganu town. From KT, take the coastal road heading towards Marang. Look out for the Merchang area and follow signs towards the jetty. GPS the Google Maps listing directly — it'll get you to the right spot.

Here's the thing: you don't just drive up to the campsite. To get there, you either take a short boat ride from the nearby jetty (which is included in your package fee), or walk across a bridge. The walk is doable but reviewers noted the bridge is quite far from the campsite itself, so most people opt for the boat. Plan for a bit of gear shuffling — if you're bringing a lot of stuff, pack smart. The road to the jetty area is fine, no 4WD needed.

What to Expect

Flat grassy camping area, lots of trees for shade, and enough spacing between pitches that you don't feel like you're camping in your neighbour's pocket. Hammock campers will find trees — though reviewers mentioned the trees are on the smaller side and spaced a bit close together, so manage expectations if you're bringing a wide hammock setup.
