Dusun Apak Kawww — Surprisingly Solid for a New Campsite
The Vibe
Dusun Apak Kawww is a relatively new campsite — we're talking opened maybe a month or two ago kind of new. But honestly? For a new spot, they've got their act together. It's a dusun buah setting, so you're surrounded by fruit trees, and yes — you're allowed to pick and eat whatever's in season. That alone already makes it different from your standard campsite.

The vibe here is very much family camping. It's clean, well-maintained, and the owner — CO Apak — is one of those rare campsite operators who actually engages with campers. Shares tips, checks in, the whole thing. The staff keep the place tidy and collect trash regularly. You can feel the care that's gone into running this place. Karaoke is not allowed, by the way. So if you're planning a noisy malam-malam session, go elsewhere. But if you want a chill, well-run spot for the family, this might be your place.
One thing to know — Dusun Apak Kawww sits right next to Sojuk Riverside campsite. Like, literally next to each other, you can see the other campers across the boundary. Not a dealbreaker, but if you're expecting to feel totally remote and secluded, adjust those expectations sikit.

Getting There
The address puts you at CMXQ+QF, 44300 Selangor. That's somewhere in the Kuala Kubu Bharu (KKB) area — a popular corridor for campers heading toward the highlands. Use Google Maps and search for "Dusun Apak Kawww" or drop this CID link: https://maps.google.com/?cid=2114349731332095065. If you get lost, call ahead — 010-891 0443. The folks there are friendly, they'll sort you out.
Road condition isn't explicitly flagged as rough in the reviews, so a regular car should be fine. But given the area and the riverside/dusun terrain, drive carefully if it's been raining. No 4WD mentioned as required.

What to Expect
The campsite has a few different zones. There are standard lots in different sizes — some are large enough for today's bigger family tents, and a few have shade, which is a big deal during the day. There's also a dedicated area for rooftop tents (RTT), so overlanders, you're covered. And then there's a more wild, natural section near the river — though as of the recent reviews, that area was still being developed. Should be ready soon.

This is a beginner and family-friendly spot. The facilities are close together, the ground is manageable, and there's no major trail to haul your gear through. The river is clean based on what campers are saying. Cold at night — like, genuinely cold. Bawah sejuk punya cold. This is highlands-adjacent territory, so don't underestimate it.
Crowd-wise, it's still fairly new so it hasn't hit that over-crowded phase yet. But with the good reviews coming in, expect it to fill up on weekends soon enough. Go on a weekday if you want more breathing room.
Facilities
Toilets
Multiple reviewers specifically called out the toilets as clean. One guy said "awesome toilet" — which in campsite terms is basically a five-star review on its own. These are properly maintained.
Surau
There's a surau on site, just a few steps from the camping lots. Convenient for Muslim campers — no need to go hunting for a nearby mosque.
Sink / Washing Area
Dedicated sink for washing dishes. Basic but functional, and it's right there near the lots.
Electricity
Plug points available at the lots. Not every site has this — it's a good perk, especially for families who need to charge stuff or run a fan.
Small Shop / Food
There's a small shop on site selling snacks and local food — laksa, ais Malaysia, that sort of thing. So you don't need to pack every single meal. Nice touch.
Parking
Not specifically mentioned in reviews, but given the layout described, parking is likely available on site. Confirm when you call ahead.

What Campers Are Saying
A camper who was particular about convenience said his lot was just steps away from the surau, sink, toilets, and plug points. He liked that the lots come in different sizes to suit different tent setups. His one gripe — no photos of each lot on the booking page, so you're going in a bit blind on which spot to pick. Fair point. He also mentioned the wild section near the river as something to look forward to once it's ready.
One family who camped here said the river is bersih — clean enough that they were happy to be in the water. The experience was good overall, though they felt the management could handle customer interactions better. Nothing specific was called out, but worth keeping in mind that it's a new operation still finding its feet.
A reviewer who was among the early campers noted that Dusun Apak Kawww is basically brand new and still adding facilities. She highlighted the fruit orchard angle — you're in an actual dusun and can pick the fruit — and said she's planning to return once the riverside section is complete. She also gave the clearest heads-up: it gets cold at night. Sweater bukan optional, it's compulsory.
Multiple reviewers called out CO Apak specifically — described as friendly, humble, and someone who genuinely shares useful tips with campers. That kind of owner makes a real difference to the experience. And the cleanliness? Consistently praised across reviews. Staff are hardworking and on top of it.

TAHAN Tip
If you want a shaded lot that's big enough for a larger tent, call ahead and ask CO Apak directly which lots are available — 010-891 0443. There's no lot photo gallery yet (reviewers have flagged this), so your best bet is to describe your tent size and ask him to recommend a spot. Don't just show up on a weekend and hope for the best.
