Getting There

What to Expect

The trail itself is a wide dirt road — not a technical jungle path. Steep in parts, but manageable. Reviewers say it's suitable for most ages, including people who don't hike regularly, as long as you pace yourself and wear proper shoes. Gravel can be slippery under smooth-soled trainers, so don't show up in flip flops or court shoes. Hiking boots are ideal. If your knees act up on descents, bring poles — the 30-minute downhill stretch is where it gets a bit rough on the joints.

At the top, you're at a paragliding launch site with open ground and wide-angle coastal views. The view is especially jaw-dropping during harvest season according to one camper — though they admitted it looks a bit average outside of that. Sunrise and sunset are the money shots. One group hiked up at 5am hoping to catch sunrise and got clouded out — bad luck, but they still seemed to have a good time. That's Terengganu weather for you, unpredictable.

This site is best suited for campers who travel light. One reviewer put it plainly — the hiker's way is the right way here. Ultralight, minimal.
